Profile
Munya Chimba is a trade, operations, and finance leader with two decades of experience building and running enterprises that move goods, value, and capital across African borders. His career spans corporate financial control, large-scale retail expansion, cross-border logistics, and food production - a progression from rigorous financial discipline into hands-on operational command of multi-company groups.
He began in finance, rising through Sanlam Developing Markets (a member of the Sanlam Group) from Accounts Payable Clerk to Financial Controller, where he owned divisional budgeting, expense forecasting and variance analysis, general ledger management, reconciliations, and VAT and BEE reporting. That grounding in numbers, controls, and accountability still anchors how he leads.
Over eight years with Shingai Group he ran operations for SPSK, a supplier of core Zimbabwean products into the South African retail market, then co-built African Basket - growing it from a single Midrand store to sixteen stores across three provinces. He established a state-of-the-art mill producing more than twenty tonnes of mealie meal daily, and managed procurement across Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Kenya, the DRC, Nigeria, and Mozambique, alongside border clearing, freight forwarding, and SARS compliance.
In 2022 he founded SITT Group (SITT Logistics, SITT Properties, and Home Mad’ Retail), specialising in cross-border logistics and retail-operations consulting. As Non-Executive Chairman of Cabanga Africa Group, he brings that blend of financial rigour, operational scale, and continental trade experience to the Group’s governance and strategic direction.

Profile
Dr. Isheunesu Amon Chaka is an integral practitioner, scholar of innovation management, and transdisciplinary institutional leader whose work articulates the nexus of decolonial thought, systems thinking, and socio-economic transformation across Southern Africa. With nearly two decades of executive governance in higher education, Dr. Chaka operates as a strategic pracademic, translating endogenous epistemologies into institutional frameworks that bridge boardroom oversight, community agency, and systemic renewal.
At the intellectual core of his praxis is the Communiversity Model, an advanced institutional framework emerging from his doctoral inquiry into the management of technology and innovation. Moving decisively beyond transactional and Western-centric paradigms of governance, the Communiversity re-anchors institutions as porous, community-integrated ecosystems driving rural transformation, graduate enterprise, and ecological self-sufficiency. Complementing this architecture is his operationalization of the 4K Model of Participatory Buy-in (Kuterera, Kunzwa, Kunzwisisa, Kunzwira), a systems framework rooted in Southern relational philosophy that institutionalizes moral alignment, authentic consensus, and enduring organizational change.
Across the tertiary education ecosystem, Dr. Chaka serves as Executive Dean of Student Affairs at Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences, having previously held the same executive portfolio at Midlands State University. In these capacities, his stewardship has delivered structural innovations, including enterprise-driven resource mobilization, the implementation of institutional business intelligence architectures, specialized disability resource infrastructure, and student development systems that have reached across 15 nations.
A distinguished recipient of The Da Vinci Mandala Research Award (2025) for his systemic integration of indigenous knowledge and institutional development, Dr. Chaka's academic foundational background spans a Doctorate in Management of Technology and Innovation from The Da Vinci Institute, an MPhil in Environmental Management from the University of Cape Town, and a BSc Honours from Midlands State University.
In his appointment to the Board of Directors of Cabanga Africa Group, Dr. Chaka brings a synthesis of rigorous board-level fiduciary acumen, holistic governance design, and deep continental networks. His appointment anchors the Group's strategic mission within authentic African realities, deploying integral enterprise principles to unlock long-term, scalable, and socially transformative capital across the continent.

Dr. John Alpha is a doctoral AI researcher and software engineer with more than two decades of experience spanning media, networks, software development, product engineering, and enterprise-scale delivery. His career has carried him from online editorial and network engineering through senior product and platform roles to the leading edge of applied artificial intelligence - across telecommunications, financial services, logistics, and e-hailing.
Much of his foundation is built on structure and delivery. As a SAFe Release Train Engineer and Certified Scrum Master, he has managed enterprise-scale agile programmes and facilitated cross-functional collaboration between product, design, analytics, and engineering teams at institutions such as Absa and Vodafone. As a researcher, John is driven by the conviction that technology should empower and collaborate with people. His work focuses on Explainable AI, Human-Machine Co-creativity, Sentiment Analysis, and Ethical AI - systems that are not only advanced, but transparent, interpretable, and aligned with human values. How To Reach The Right Person
Step 01Commercial matters
For anything commercial - advertising, contract publishing, subscriptions - write to info@cabanga.africa and it is routed to the nearest office.
Step 02Editorial matters
For anything editorial - a correction, a story, a right of reply - ask for the editor of the specific edition rather than the group.
Step 03Governance matters
For governance matters, address the board through the group rather than through an individual director.
Step 04Urgent matters
For anything urgent, use the WhatsApp line for your country. South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe each have their own.
